Rock a leopard print bag

leave a comment »

A long standing fan of leopard print accessories come day or night – belts, hair bands and ballet pumps spring to mind. I am more than happy to add a leopard print bag to the equation (but strictly only one leopard print item per outfit please.  Scary spice we are not).

Everyone’s wearing – the Midi (or Calf Length Skirt)

with 3 comments

Usually confined to English teachers and the over 65’s, the calf length skirt or midi, is making a huge come back for Autumn/Winter 2010 thanks to Marc Jacobs for Louis Vuitton.

Done well it can hide a multitude of sins. Cellulite and wobbly post holiday thighs spring to mind.  Keep it light with chiffons and neutrals for the rest of the summer then progress to ladylike wool for winter. Tuck in your blouse and embrace your inner librarian.  These girls show us how it’s done…..

Alexa Chung for Madewell

leave a comment »

I am aware this blog is becoming little more than a glorified Alexa Chung fan club. An outlet for my obsession if you will, however, do bear with me.  There is a point to it.

Alexa Chung’s first collection for Madewell hits the US in August.  Much to my despair we won’t be seeing any of the collection in UK stores.  I’ve done a little hunting though and US website Shopbop.com deliver worldwide within 3 days and stock the Madewell label.  Lets hope they put some of this wonderful collection online….

Key pieces: Striped Dungaree dress, velvet shorts, extra long cardigans, peter pan collars and socks with everything.

Spot The Difference – Peacocks do Mulberry Alexa Bag

leave a comment »

They’ve done it again.  After much success with their sell-out copy of the Chloe ‘Louise’ satchel in March, Peacocks have now had a go at the Mulberry Alexa.  I have to say it’s not bad for £14.

Peacocks version of the Chloe sold out in 48 hours so better get your skates on. Out 1st July.

Original Mulberry Alexa £695.00 Net-A-Porter

English Rose – Cath Kidston

leave a comment »

Cath Kidston reminds me of being a little girl,  I once begged my mom to decorate my bedroom with everything rose buds. I had a rose bud bed cover, rose bud curtains and cushions.  Even my barbies had little rose bud dresses.

Maybe it’s this nostalgia that draws me to all things Cath Kidston or maybe it’s just that it’s so cute.  Classic prints like ‘Spray Flowers’ has that kind of timeless appeal that captures girls of 5 through to ladies of 95. While newer prints such as ‘Strawberry’ has me wanting to redesign my kitchen just to accommodate a rather large Strawberry print blind.

On a recent holiday to St Ives, I must have visited their Cath Kidston shop 4 times in one week.  I planned to treat myself to something but it was impossible to decide what.  I want my house to look like this shop, it’s so wonderful.

The New summer range of clothes is of course just as gorgeous as the homeware.  I’m lusting after this linen dress and ‘Bath Flowers’ Cotton shirt.

Everyone is wearing – The Bun

Piled up high, undone and a whimsy of fluffiness, the bun is the hottest hair do of the summer. Perfect for those sticky hot days and works even better if not freshly washed. No brush required –   Hoorah!
